WHAT IS LEBKUCHEN?
A timeless German Christmas tradition and a cozy cold-weather treat
Lebkuchen (pronounced leyb-koo-kuh n) is a chewy gingerbread-like cookie that’s been a German holiday tradition for centuries. Made with almonds and hazelnuts and spiced with warming ginger, cloves, and nutmeg, these pillowy treats are a beloved part of the Christmas season!
THE MORE NUTS, THE BETTER THE LEBKUCHEN!
Lebkuchen must be made with at least 25% nut content to qualify as premium “Nuremberg-style Lebkuchen.” At Leckerlee, we go further, using 40% almonds and hazelnuts for the best lebkuchen you’ll find outside of Nuremberg’s artisanal bakeries.
A TRADITION WORTH SHARING
Spread cheer this holiday season! Smiles are guaranteed with the gift of authentic lebkuchen inside a decorative keepsake tin. We release new tin designs each winter for a memorable gift that will become part of their Christmas traditions for years to come.
“The beautiful tins are the finishing touch.” - Michael T.
