Allergen note: milk has been added as an allergen to our ingredient listing because the manufacturer of our dark chocolate (the French chocolate company Cacao Barry, also known as Callebaut) changed their ingredient label. We have been using the same dark chocolate for over 10 years. Cacao Barry has confirmed that no change was made to their recipe formulation. They decided to add milk as an ingredient because the dark chocolate is produced (and has always been produced) on the same production line as their milk chocolate, so cross-contamination is possible.
Ingredient note: The glucose-fructose syrup that is a constituent ingredient of the candied citron and orange peel is NOT
derived from corn and is not the same composition as high-fructose corn syrup. This was confirmed with the manufacturer when our lebkuchen was approved by the Global Nutrition team at Whole Foods.
