Shelf life: we suggest eating our lebkuchen within a few weeks for optimal texture and taste, but as long as you store it in an airtight container and in a cool, dry place, you can continue to enjoy your lebkuchen for many months. Just keep in mind that it will lose moisture over time. You can try to revive lebkuchen that has lost some moisture by placing a piece of sliced apple inside the container for a day or two and then removing it.
These are definitely one of the my favorite things I look forward to eating during the holidays! Even the reveal of the new tins are exciting and always beautiful.
