The gingerbread essence, rich flavor and cake-like, chewy texture are unmatched. Produced in small batches using premium ingredients, Leckerlee Lebkuchen are an artisanal treat that embodies the classic flavor of the holidays. Our season is short, so get it while you can!
I was really impressed with the lebkuchen from Leckerlee. These are fresh and better than any lebkuchen I've ever had in the United States -- anywhere. Maybe even better than Dallmeyr in Munich...
I received a package of 5 pieces for Christmas, and was astonished at the flavor and quality of the lebkuchen. The best I had ever had was in Germany, but this equals, and even surpasses it. I thought it was pricey until I ordered two packs of my own, but they are truly outstanding. Being a diehard Lebkuchen fanatic I can unequivocally state It is worth it! I am now biding my time until next season rolls around.
We've traveled to Germany and first had lebkuchen during the Christmas season in Nuremberg but this lebkuchen is FAR better. Way more moist and fresh. Can't wait to purchase from this bakery year after year!
Your cookies are always excellent. Thank you.
Amazing! I close my eyes and while I eat one of your lebkuchen and I'm at a Christkindlmarkt in Germany!
The cookies were well-made, fresh and very generous in sizing. I just wish I had more than 20 and I even gave away a container full. I wish that these were made all year round! Job well done !
I read about these and decided to have some sent to me in Australia. After their prompt despatch I tracked their progress across the miles worrying as they spent some time in over 100 degrees as they were waiting to be cleared by Australian customs- yesterday was the moment of truth. Finally they had arrived. The family gathered round. My precious lebkuchen began to disappear at an alarming rate. THEY ARE AMAZING. THE CHOCOLATE COATING IS SUPERB AND THEY TASTE WONDERFUL. They were completely unaffected by their arduous journey - New York - Florida-Memphis -Hawaii-Sydney Melbourne. I AM THRILLED
These are some of the best cookies I have ever eaten! My husband couldn't believe me when I said that and once he tried one he was convinced!
These cookies are the best gingerbread cookies I've ever eaten. I have ordered them ever since I've discovered them a three years ago. They are chewy and full of quality ingredients. The chocolate coating is thick and you can tell that they don't skimp on anything. Also the customer service I received was fantastic. The owner contacted me directly and I have nothing but high praises. Thank you so much for continuing to make these wonderful cookies that I look forward to every winter.
I grew up on Ericann Lebkuchen, cookies, and stollen. It was bought by a woman in Michigan who died a couple of years ago. My children and I long for this particular taste and Leckerlee comes very close to it. The chocolate is a bit sweeter but of a high quality. The inside ingredients are more defined, nuts (might be grown a bit more) and lemon rinds. I actually sent them to my daughter who lives in Berlin and she was ecstatic to recognize the similarity in taste from her childhood and mine. At times we have bought German Lebkuchen, and we have been disappointed. But Leckerlee, made in New York City (can you imagine that) is truly delicious. Now I wish for the owner to begin baking Ericann Stollen and cookies, also the best I have ever eaten.
The first time I ate Lebkuchen it was in Israel. A Jewish German baker by the name of Bart made the most delicious chocolate Lebkuchen. This was 40 years ago. The Baker went on to greener pastures and the people who inherited the business cut corners and Bart's isn't what it once was. Since I ate that Lebkuchen no other Lebkuchen has come close until Leckerlee. It's not quite Barts but it's in the ballpark.
After enjoying a Christmas gift tin of five (assorted) of these enormous pillows of heaven (a gift to my spouse from his employee, but I ate most of them!) I went online and ordered ten more. They are that good. Being largely composed of ground nuts, they are free of that cloying sweetness you get in oversugared, mass-market versions. The texture is moist without being gummy (again, unlike commercial versions made with cheap fats that extend shelf life). I plan to give these as Christmas presents next year. And purchase a stash for myself.
The cookies are moist and not overly sweet. The chocolate is delicious. They are the best gingerbread cookies.
My first ever lebkuchen, I was intrigued when I saw an ad on the web so I went for them and ended up ordering several times as gifts and for a fresh home stock. Thanks so much!
The Nuermberger Lebkuchen were not what I expected. The lebkuchen I was accustomed to were like the ones baked by the "2 BEES CO." in New York (40S TO 60s)!
I grew up in Germany, so I know Lebkuchen. When I first saw Leckerlee on Facebook, I was intrigued by the description of the Lebkuchen and the tins which reminded me of my childhood. I ordered the chocolate Lebkuchen and they are simply delicious. Better than any Nürnberger Lebkuchen I have ever had, even the Elisenlebkuchen. Leckerlee will be part of our Christmas season in the U.S. from now on. Thank you!!
This year I was able to do a side-by-side comparison with authentic Nuremburg lebkuchen. Of course there are many different levels of quality even in Nuremburg. There are the cheap floury kind you can buy at Trader Joe's and then there are the very high quality kind "Elisenlebkuchen" that are baked with little to no flour. Every bakery has their own recipe and some are more special than others. The ones from Leckerlee are about average, in fact they don't hide the fact that there is a significant amount of flour in their product. I personally found the flavor profile a little off from my current authentic lebkuchen as well as my memory of previous years. In particular the cinnamon was a bit strong, or maybe just the wrong kind of cinnamon? The chocolate coating was amazing, far better than what I remember from Germany. Next time I will order only the chocolate variety. Overall I still prefer the original Nuremburg lebkuchen, but these are good enough for when I can't get a hold of a quality original.
I received a package of the assorted lebkuchen cookies as a gift... My family loved them so much I ordered 10 more. They are wonderful with a morning cup of coffee.
I sent out lebkuchen to my parents and they loved it so much they turned around and ordered more so they could share with friends as well. I got an order sent to my house and loved it so much I turned around and ordered more so I could eat more myself : ) Fantastic lebkuchen!!! Delicious!
I grew up in Germany and loved eating lebkuchen as a kid. When we moved to New York, friends and family would send us lebkuchen for Christmas and they were always a special treat. I was so happy to have found Leckerlee here a couple of years ago! They are truly the real thing, moist and flavorful with just the right combination of spices! My family and I love them!
I'll certainly be back again!
Thes were a gift for my German stepfather. He was so impressed with the authentic taste and professed they were the best he has EVER had! So glad to have stopped and had a sample in Union Square while visiting NYC this holiday season. Now that I've found this treat I will be ordering again!
Got 20 cookies for a friends parents (native German and Swiss) and they exclaimed they were the closest thing to what they ate as kids! Thanks Leckerlee!
Ausgezeichnet!! Fantastic Lebkuchen!! Highly recommend it to everyone! Sent some to my friend & she loved it too! Fast shipping & product arrived in great shape. YUM!!
I love the chocolate lebkuchen! Thank you for baking them and shipping to California!
The very best lebkucken in America and possibly the world!
The flavor, textures & freshness is awesome!! I like both the chocolate & classic with the chocolate leading just a tiny bit.
I have tried many lebkuchen from everywhere including Germany, and Leckerlee is the best. Only one thing I noticed, it was a bit chewier and dense last year, or maybe a little product variation. Still, they are the best.
My daughter studied in Germany and loved the Christmas Markets. When I read about the lebkuchen decided to get everyone some for their stockings...everyone LOVED them, the chocolate ones are incredible! Looks like a new tradition has begun
Awesome! New Holiday Tradition!
My family very much enjoyed the Lebkuchen. They have the right amount of spice and most original mouth feel - very fresh despite mail order. We plan on ordering again.
I was delighted to find these lebkuchen this year! They are noisy and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I cannot wait until next year!
Love getting these every year for the holidays! They are as good as ever.
Only the ambience of the Christmas market missing.
I sent a gift of lebkuchen to my brother. When we were young, our mother made them for the holidays every year from our Swiss-German grandmother's recipe. It was always his favorite among the holiday cookies. When this gift arrived at his home, he told me, at first he remembered the name better than the taste, but once he tried one, "It all came back to me. Thanks for the memory."
Delicious and so good everyone wanted one! Gave some as gifts! Love the taste and they are good looking cookies! Yum!
We had never tasted lebkuchen and were introduced by Food 52. The description/details made it sound so good, we had to try it. The lebkuchen was even better than we expected. Kudos to Leckerlee for mastering this delicious baked treat!
I just sent these a package to my daughter and her college roommates to help them make it through exams. Wow! are they happy.
Our lebkuchen arrived fresh and delicious! I couldn't be more pleased with your product and love the gift tins. They came ready to gift to friends and family. I would definitely recommend your products and service and look forward to ordering with you again next year! Thank you, Happy Holidays!
These Lebkuchen are the real deal. I was so happy when I discovered them at our local Whole Foods in San Francisco and ordered a whole bunch from Leckerlee directly. I like both varieties, but my kids naturally prefer the chocolate-covered Lebkuchen. They are pricey, but knowing what goes into them, they are worth every penny.
I've only had lebchucken from Germany and this is by far the best I've had in the US. I buy these tins as gifts for my co-workers and it's definitely been a huge hit.
I've been to Nuremberg a few times, and miss the lebcuchen ... but now we have Leckerlee! Fresh, delicious and irresistible. A little expensive, but just do it! Now if only they had gluten free lebcuchen so my wife could enjoy them ...
I buy these for my husband every Christmas and they are the most delicious cookies ever. We fight over them. You must try them!
The smells & taste of my Mother's & Grandmother's Lebkuchen almost duplicated by Lackerlee
Found these first at my local Whole Foods store and was so impressed that l ordered more from the Leckerlee website. Lovely imaginative tins with scrumptious cookies within! Great gift for that foodie friend, wonderful treat on a winter evening. Thank you for a quality product.
I lived in Germany from 1986 -1989. Although there were Christmas markets in many German communities, I looked forward to visiting Nuremberg each December and eating fresh lebkuchen. I knew the stand with the freshest cookies. I've been back to Germany a couple of times during the holidays and was disappointed when I couldn't locate my favorite bakery stand. No worries! I've discovered Leckerlee and they're the best I've ever had. Sandy is a miracle maker!!! Denise Saviano
My most favorite season is completed with Lebkuchen! New tradition since 2012.
I grew up eating Lebkuchen in Germany, and cannot believe how amazingly authentic these Leckerlee gingerbreads are. In fact, their freshness, flavor, and quality exceed anything that you can buy from German bakers. These are seasonally produced, so I urge you to buy them in large quantities when they are made available for sale. "Lecker" means "yummy" in German, and the name perfectly fits this delicious product.
These are the best cookies I've ever eaten.Nothing compares.I wait ever year for these cookies
I used to enjoy these in Nurnburg. I'm ordering more!
I bought these for my mom and I. Her mom lived in Germany and would always get them around the holidays. They arrived and stayed moist and delicious. Just sweet enough and nice and spicy. The icy gave a little snap, which was great.
I'm German, and have lived and eaten Lebkuchen for over 30 years over there. It's the essence of Advent Time for every German, so, a serious matter :) Leckerlee Lebkuchen is better than any I've ever had in Germany! Period! Plain amazing!
After hearing my mother's stories about her grandmother baking lebukuchen for her brithday, we tried Leckerlee lebkuchen. It is beyond delicious and now is a scrumptious tradition in our family. We love the nuts and citrus and spices, and always eat it up faster than we expect!
I can't say enough good things about Leckerlee lebkuchen. I have been ordering this for some years now, and it just wouldn't be Christmas without it!! I sent packages of the assorted lebkuchen to many of my family and friends, so that they could enjoy this holiday treat as well. It tastes like the real thing from Germany. Excellent!!!
We have purchased Sandy's cookies both the mini size and standard size for years now. The consistancy of the cookies, packaging and delivery never waiver. All are excellent. The tins are beautiful and make a lovely gift, if, you can give them away and not keep for yourself. The arrival of Leckerlee lebkuchen has become a Christmas tradition in our home.
There really IS perfection in the relative when it comes to Leckerlee's Lebkuchen!!! We received these cake-like cookies as a Christmas gift and I simply cannot stop thinking about them! We have 1 1/2 cake-cookies left, and I can't bear to finish them. Truly, Leckerlee has mastered the taste and texture of this German gingerbread. With such high nut content, I am hoping that Leckerlee will consider creating a gluten free version for next year, as I am hopeful that the flours portion of the recipe can achieve greatness with gluten free ones. In fact, since Leckerlee is already perfect, I completely trust their ability to duplicate perfection in a gluten free choice. Thank you for your dedication to a divine treat which is certainly now a new family tradition for our holidays. Would love this year-round. Great for gifts! Thank you, Leckerlee!
Maybe it sounds like overkill to call a cookie "superb," but these lebkuchen are a distillation of the scents, sights and tastes of wintry Europe of centuries past, with a faint connection to Rome.
The honey, the warm spices, the bits of citron enlivening the dense sweetness are perfect. Leckerlee adds a huge proportion of ground nuts, which creates a cookie with enough lightness and texture to carry the wallop of flavor.
An awesome treat to look forward to every holiday season- Yum!
we look forward to this every year, keep them frozen so we can enjoy them small bites at a time almost the whole year.
I have not had anything resembling the real thing in many years.
My Christmas guests were blown away.
Leckerlee is the perfect name for this delicious cookie! Lecker means delicious in German. Treat yourself to these cookies. You will not be disappointed. These are by far the best lebkuchen we've ever had. We look forward every year to ordering cookies for ourselves and our family and friends. We especially love the chocolate ones.
This Lebkuchen is the best I have ever had. I have been ordering premium lebkuchen imported from Germany but decided this year to try these when I saw them mentioned in an article. Glad I did. These have more nuts and are better than the ones I was buying. I prefer my Lebkuchen with the plain glaze, not chocolate, and they are hard to find. Here I can purchase as many as I want. I definitely will be buying more next Christmas. My only complaint is that they are a holiday treat and not available all year long. But I guess that's probably a blessing.
First I got one of the new Holiday Tins during a preseason sale. Then, there was a 'flash sale' at 40% off, so I ended getting another TWENTY Lebkuchen. I thought, "Do I really need this many?", but after sharing three, I finally savored the last one and wished I still had MORE.
My husband's grandmother lived in Germany for decades and for Christmas every year his family makes Lebkuchen. Since we don't live near family, I looked up how to make authentic Lebkuchen for him and found out the recipes are nothing like his family makes. Since I have never had authentic Lebkuchen I ordered Leckerlee, because I wanted to know exactly how the cookie should taste. Now that I've had it, I know I won't be able to make mine that good, so we will forever be Leckerlee fans. It's our family tradition to have our Lebkuchen every Christmas and Leckerlee make huge, soft Lebkuchen with a perfect balance of sweet and molasses.
