Shelf life: we suggest eating our lebkuchen within a few weeks for optimal texture and taste, but as long as you store it in an airtight container and in a cool, dry place, you can continue to enjoy your lebkuchen for many months. Just keep in mind that it will lose moisture over time. You can try to revive lebkuchen that has lost some moisture by placing a piece of sliced apple inside the container for a day or two and then removing it.
I liked these so much that I bought several boxes & froze a few for future use.
Yes indeed, ausgezeichnet! I'm a big fan of your product. Maybe, though, up the spices/rebalance them a bit and drop the sugar a bit. That's all. Thank you.
Leckerlee ist lecker.
Lebkuchen are smaller in diameter, flatter, and the glazing no longer covers the edges compared to the previous five years. A noticeable drop in quality. Taste is fine.
Hi Jessica, thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you feel there has been a drop in the quality of our lebkuchen. The diameter of the lebkuchen has absolutely not changed. We have used 100mm Backoblaten (the edible wafers on the bottom) since 2011, and there has been no variation in the size of the lebkuchen. There can be some variation in the glazing from time to time, as we glaze everything by hand, but we have not intentionally stopped covering the edges with the glaze. I apologize if this adversely affected your enjoyment of the lebkuchen and will follow up with you separately to see how we can make things right.
I had reservations when I placed my first order and was not sure how close yours come to the ones bakeries in Nürnberg sell. They are equal in quality and taste. Excellent. We will definitely place an order again next season.
